Messaris Wapenaar Cole Architects is managed and led by Jeffrey Cole, Andre Wapenaar and Arthur Messaris, each of whom has a wealth of experience in projects both locally and globally. Whilst being a general architectural practice, each of the partners has a particular area of expertise. This is particularly pertinent in specialised areas where an in-depth knowledge of a specific industry or funding model is required and then the focused knowledge of the relevant partner in that field can be drawn upon.
With a head office now located in Rivonia, Johannesburg and a staff complement ranging between 20 and 30 full time, highly skilled, employees, the team has proven itself on a number of the African continent’s largest infrastructure projects and is sought after globally for its specialised expertise in rail, port, mining and logistics infrastructure.
Years Of experience
Founded in 1982 in a garage on Hope Road in Mountain View, Johannesburg, Messaris Wapenaar Cole Architects has developed a proud reputation as one of Johannesburg’s premier architectural practices having grown into a robust firm of architects with extensive experience across a multitude of building typologies.
SHAPING THE WORLD
The team at Messaris Wapenaar Cole Architects maintains this enthusiasm, which it believes can be attributed to the relative youth of the staff and a company policy of nurturing young talent through education and training. Architecture is our core business at Messaris Wapenaar Cole Architects and we have acquired some additional skills along the way. These not only add to our understanding of the ‘bigger picture’ in which we work but allow us to extend the value we can add to our client’s projects.
